Our Adventures
Vacation Stay
Stay overnight or for a few days. Explore the river by kayak, sail, rowing, dinghy, cycling, or driving. Overnight stays include breakfast, use of the Heigh-dy Ho for rowing or sailing, and use of the amenities of the property. Your hosts can teach the fine art of dinghy handling or teach the beginnings of sailing!
River Pleasure Sail
Come for a relaxing sail aboard Tillicum , a west coast built fishing schooner, on the LaHave River where you can see and experience the past and the present. There are museums, villages, the LaHave Bakery, the Cable Ferry, and even the town of Bridgewater - all accessible by water. Sing along with the crew, learn the ropes of schooner sailing, practice the art of sail-raising, and enjoy camaraderie while creating lifelong memories.

Island Tours
The LaHave River is one of the most diverse river systems, and at the mouth there are numerous islands where you can explore by kayak, sail, or even hiking. West Ironbound Island is a protected island owned by the Kingsburg Coastal Conservancy, and visitors are able to explore by hiking the historic area that was once a fishing outpost and then a lighthouse site, where the keepers raised sheep and potatoes. The sheep roam the island to this day.

Kayaking the River
Enjoy a perfect chance to travel by kayak and see wildlife, paddle in peaceful waters, stop for lunch, visit a museum, and just get out and stretch your legs for a day or a few hours. There is so much to explore in the protection of the LaHave River, where the hills on either side of the island shield the paddler from the winds of the ocean or the swells coming in off the sea. If you prefer to challenge yourself with ocean waves, it is easy to reach the ocean which is just a few miles away! Something for Everyone!
Cycling Tours
Bring your own bikes or rent some, you can travel to the town of Bridgewater, or head down the River and take a left to take the back road into Lunenburg. Take a right, and you can take the Cable Ferry and cross over where you can find the LaHave Bakery or continue on to the beaches or wineries! So much to see and so many options, you can go for hours!

Schooner Race Week
Every year the Nova Scotia Schooner Association hosts a week of traditional old-school schooner racing! There are schooners of all sizes, shapes, and colors from Canada, and other countries. It is fun, exhilarating, and very Nova Scotian. The race event has been held for decades with past captains and schooners being honoured and represented. We have participated for the past couple of years, and thought it would be great fun to open up our boat to new crew! Stay tuned for details and options!
Cruiser Stopover
If you are out cruising the South Coast or the Bluenose Coast, need a place to get some laundry done, take a shower, even provision, we can help you! During our voyage through Central America and the Caribbean, we found that was a most desired necessity. And so, with Bridgewater being so important as a shopping destination, we have the facilities to help cruisers get organized, take a break, and stock up! Our home has quiet, protected waters, plenty of space and even amenities that help cruisers take a break from the ocean! Call or email us to discuss your needs!
